Disney's Aladdin Celebrates 3,000 Performances on Broadway

Disney's Aladdin will celebrate its 3,000th performance at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre at the December 28th matinee.

Based on the 1992 animated film, Aladdin is the story of a scrappy "street rat" who comes into possession on a magic lamp. The genie within promises him three wishes, but will that be enough to win the heart of the beautiful and stubborn Princess Jasmine?

The show features songs by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman, and Tim Rice like "A Whole New World" and "Friend Like Me," as well as new numbers by Menken, Rice, and Chad Beguelin. In addition to reaching 3,000 performances, Aladdin recently joined the Top 20 list of longest-running Broadway shows when it passed the 1964-70 run of Hello, Dolly!...READ MORE
