Just In Time

Just In Time is an “utterly electrifying” (Entertainment Weekly) new musical that brings to life the story of Bobby Darin, the legendary singer whose short but remarkable journey took him from teen idol to global sensation. Developed and directed by Tony Award® winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge!, Beetlejuice), with a book by Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver, the show immerses audiences into an intimate nightclub “so seductive in ambiance that you find yourself not wanting to go back outside” (Chicago Tribune). Complete with iconic hits including “Beyond the Sea,” “Mack the Knife,” “Splish Splash,” and “Dream Lover,” Just In Time is “a helluva good time at the theater” (Time Out). Read More Just In Time

Walk into the Circle in the Square Theatre for Just In Time, and you'll find yourself whisked away to a dazzling, nightclub-like scene. The theatre has been transformed with two stages and cabaret-style seating, with a big band on stage instead of in an orchestra pit.. Here, the audience isn’t just watching a musical; they’re stepping back in time to the swing era that Bobby Darin embodied so perfectly.

Initially presented as The Bobby Darin Story at the 92nd Street Y, the show began as a series of five concerts starring Jonathan Groff. Along with director Alex Timbers, music supervisor and arranger Andrew Resnick, and choreographer Shannon Lewis, they have meticulously crafted this production to capture the essence of Darin's thrilling yet all-too-brief career. The result is a vibrant journey back in time that showcases what made Bobby Darin an unforgettable icon.
