In addition to the 20 existing shows in The Broadway Collection, the following have joined for the 2013-2014 year:

Now in its 129th season, The Metropolitan Opera is a vibrant home for the most creative and talented artists from around the world. Known as a venue for the world’s greatest voices, the Met has been under the musical direction of James Levine since 1976. In addition to the classic repertoire of the Met, the three exciting new musicals have joined The Broadway Collection this season. Inspired by true events and based on the acclaimed 1997 documentary of the same name, Hands on a Hardbody tells the story of ten Texans who are down on their luck, but a new lease on life is so close they can touch it. Under a scorching sun for days on end, they’ll compete in an endurance and sleep deprivation contest in order to win a brand new Nissan Hardbody truck. The last person to remain standing with his or her hand on the truck wins – who will drive away with the American Dream? Hands on a Hardbody will open for previews on February 23, 2013 and officially open on Broadway March 21, 2013 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

Slated to grace the Broadway stage in August 2013, Flashdance shares the inspiring story of Alex Owens, a working-class girl from Pittsburgh with a dream of becoming a professional dancer. Alex works as a steel mill welder by day, and a bar dancer at night while aspiring to be accepted at a prestigious ballet academy. When she catches the eye of her boss, Nick Hurley, their romance shows her the meaning of love and drives her ambition to pursue her dream.
