Broadway Inbound Welcomes Five New Shows to The Broadway Collection

Broadway Inbound has announced that five shows have joined The Broadway Collection. Joining an already-existing group of New York City’s most highly regarded musicals and shows, each show in the Broadway Collection portfolio is selected for its unparalleled popularity with international audiences. The new members are among the best that New York has to offer and include Pippin, Rock of Ages, Les Miserables, Rocky and Bullets Over Broadway.

In addition to the Metropolitan Opera and 17 existing Broadway and Off-Broadway shows in The Broadway Collection, the following have joined for the 2013-2014 year:

Winner of the 2013 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, Pippin tells the story of Royal heir Pippin who is spurred on by a mysterious group of performers to embark on a death-defying journey to find the meaning of his existence. Pippin is a circus-inspired spectacle great for teenagers and adults.

Rock of Ages is the Broadway turned blockbuster hit set in Hollywood in the 1980’s and tells the story of Drew, a boy from South Detroit and Sherrie, a small-town girl, who are both in L.A. to chase their dreams. This high-energy show originally opened on Broadway on April 7, 2009 and is most suitable for adults.

Based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel, Les Miserables is an epic and uplifting story about the survival of the human spirit. This classic revival will return to Broadway for previews March 1, 2014 and will officially open March 23, 2014.

Rocky, a new musical based on the famous American boxing film, will open on Broadway in February 2014. The show brings to life the story of struggling small time Philly boxer, Rocky Balboa, who gets a once-in-a-lifetime shot against heavyweight champ Apollo Creed.
