Classic Novel & Film Hits Broadway as a New Member of The Broadway Collection

American Psycho,
based on the best-selling novel by Bret Easton Ellis, joins The Broadway Collection as a new member after an acclaimed sold out run at the Almeida Theatre in London. Previews for this Broadway re-imagination will begin March 24, 2016. Choreographed by Lynne Page whose theatre credits include the London production of the show, will officially open under the direction of Rupert Goold at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre on April 20, 2016.

American Psycho follows 26-year-old Patrick Bateman: a sophisticated, rich and devastatingly handsome Wall Street banker in 1980s New York City who seems to have it all –money, power, and good looks. There’s just one problem: Patrick has a murderous, psychopathic alter ego that no one knows about. Rupert Goold brings the musical version of this iconic novel from London to Broadway, putting the iconic anti-hero Patrick Bateman center stage. The musical will feature an electronic music score, a first on Broadway, inspired by the show’s 1980’s New York City setting, a time when the music genre gained popularity in the clubs of the Big Apple.

As a part of The Broadway Collection, American Psycho belongs to a group of New York City’s most highly regarded musicals and shows, selected for their unparalleled popularity with international audiences and put together by Broadway Inbound. Tickets are available through the international Broadway Inbound and Broadway Collection partners and domestically through traditional ticketing platforms like Telecharge and Ticketmaster.
