Miss Saigon “Dreamlands” on Broadway

A recent addition to The Broadway Collection, the first–ever Broadway revival of Miss Saigon begins previews on March 1, 2017. The new iteration of Boublil and Schönberg’s legendary musical, Miss Saigon, will be directed by Laurence Connor and produced by Cameron Mackintosh, who also helmed the smash-hit London revival. Miss Saigon officially opens at the Broadway Theatre on March 23, 2017.

Miss Saigon tells the story of a young girl named Kim, who is orphaned by war and forced to work in a Saigon bar run by the notoriously sleazy Tran Van Dinh. Kim meets and falls in love with Chris, an American GI – but their lives are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. For the next three years, Kim must go on an epic journey of survival to find her way back to Chris, who has no idea he’s fathered a son.

From the original production which opened in 1991, to its newest iteration, Miss Saigon has performed in 28 countries, over 300 cities in 15 different languages, has won over 40 awards including 3 Tony Awards and has been seen by over 35 million people worldwide. This new production takes a grittier, more realistic approach than the original production while still delivering the power and epic sweep of Boubill and Schönberg’s tremendous score.

As a part of The Broadway Collection, Miss Saigon belongs to a group of New York City’s most highly regarded musicals, shows, and organizations selected for their unparalleled popularity with international audiences and compiled by Broadway Inbound. Tickets are available through international Broadway Inbound and Broadway Collection partners and domestically through the Shubert-operated ticketing platform, Telecharge.
