Zarkana to Return to New York this Summer

Zarkana, the surreal acrobatic spectacle by Cirque du Soleil, will return to New York this summer beginning performances Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the legendary Radio City Music Hall for a limited engagement through Sunday, September 2 only.

Zarkana, which Time Magazine proclaimed “the show of the summer in the showplace of the nation,” was seen by more than 500,000 people in its triumphant 2011 premiere season at Radio City Music Hall.

This epic spectacle takes audiences into a fantastical and suspenseful world where highly-acrobatic feats are heightened by original live music and interactive multimedia elements. Zarkana transforms the grandest stage in the world into a world of unreality as only Cirque du Soleil could imagine.

Zarkana is part of The Broadway Collection, a group of new and classic Broadway musicals selected for their unparalleled popularity with international audiences. Tickets are available through the international Broadway Collection partners.

Directed by the internationally acclaimed François Girard (The Red Violin, Silk), this production features 71 international artists and follows Zark, a magician on a quest to find his lost powers. He finds himself plunged into a world inhabited by surreal and mesmerizing creatures. The music of Zarkana is composed by Nick Littlemore, a protégé of Sir Elton John.

The creative team also includes Creation Director Line Tremblay, Set and Props Designer Stéphanie Roy, Costume Designer Alan Hranitelj, Composer and Musical Director Nick Littlemore, Choreographer Debra Brown, Lighting Designer Alain Lortie, Image Content Designer Raymond St-Jean, Sound Designer Steven Dubuc, Acrobatic Performance Designer Florence Pot, Acrobatic Equipment and Rigging Designer Danny Zen and Makeup Designer Eleni Uranis.
