The Broadway Collection Announces 14 New Shows
The Broadway Collection is very excited to announce the addition of 14 new shows into their portfolio. Joining an already-existing group of new and classic Broadway musicals, each Broadway Collection show is selected for its unparalleled popularity with international audiences. The shows in The Broadway Collection are among the best that Broadway has to offer and sure to be hits for visitors to New York City.
In addition to the 10 existing shows in The Broadway Collection, the following shows are currently running and have joined for the 2012-2013 year:
Newsies, a tale of a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teen aged “newsies,” who dream only of a better life opened on Broadway March 29, 2012 at the Nederlander Theatre.
Evita, the story of the alluring first lady of Argentina, Eva Peron, opened on Broadway April 5, 2012 at the Marquis Theatre.
Stomp, a percussive symphony that is coupled with dance and played entirely on unconventional instruments first opened off-Broadway on February 27, 1994 at the Orpheum Theatre.
Once, the Tony Award-Winning Best Musical opened on Broadway March 18, 2011 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Once tells the story of two people who are drawn together by their love of music.
Nice Work If You Can Get It, the hilarious Tony Award-winning prohibition-era story, opened on Broadway April 24, 2012 at the Imperial Theatre.
Additions to The Broadway Collection’s portfolio opening in Fall 2012 include Chaplin, opening September 10, Annie, opening November 8, Rebecca opening November 18 and The Mystery of Edwin Drood which will open November 29, 2012.
The latest Broadway Collection shows opening in the spring of 2013 are Kinky Boots, Matilda, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Diner and MoTown. Opening dates and ticketing information will be announced.
Each new show will be joining the 10 existing shows currently in The Broadway Collection, including: The Lion King, Mamma Mia!, Chicago, and The Phantom of the Opera, Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark, The Book of Mormon, Ghost the Musical, Jersey Boys, Mary Poppins, and Wicked.
