The Broadway Collection News Ending August 23, 2012

The new musical about the Little Tramp, Chaplin, opened for previews this week! The musical depicting the life of film icon Charlie Chaplin will open officially on Broadway September 10, 2012 at the Barrymore Theatre.

Producers of the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Once announced that the production has recouped its capitalization after only 21 weeks (169 performances), faster than any new Broadway musical in more than a decade. Once tells the story of an Irish musician and a Czech immigrant drawn together by their shared love of music and plays at the Bernard b. Jacobs Theatre.

Annie, the new production of the Tony Award-winning musical, has begun rehearsal in New York City with its full company. The production begins previews October 3, 2012 and opens November 8, 2012 at the Palace Theatre. The show was one of the biggest Broadway musical hits of the 1970s, running for almost six years and playing 2,377 performances.

The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, broke the house record at Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre for the 39th time! Congratulations!
