Woody Allen’s Bullets Over Broadway Opens on Broadway

Bullets Over Broadway, the new musical adaptation of Woody Allen and Douglas McGrath’s screenplay of the 1994 film, is making its premiere on Broadway. The musical began previews on March 11, 2014 and will officially open on April 10, 2014 at the St. James Theatre.

Bullets Over Broadway tells the story of an aspiring young playwright, David Shayne, in 1920s New York City who is forced to cast a mobster’s talentless girlfriend in his latest drama in order to get it funded and produced. David is pressured to make many compromises as he works to complete the show. Eventually, the playwright must decide whether theatre or life is more important.

Emmy Award nominee Zach Braff will make his Broadway debut in Bullets Over Broadway as the main character, playwright David Shayne.
