Group Scoop: Broadway Ray Talkback

On August 5, after a rousing matinee performance of Something Rotten!, 58 theatre enthusiasts made their way down emptied aisles to sit in the front rows of the magnificent St. James Theatre. As the rest of the theatregoers filed out double doors flung wide, the group took a moment to admire the empty stage, up into three tiers of cushioned seats, and across gilded ceilings glimmering under raised house lights, as their collective anticipation filled the space.

If you couldn’t already tell, this was no average group; these NYC travelers were at the show with Broadway Inbound’s longstanding client, Broadway Ray.

They were about to experience a private “talkback” with cast members from the show, to get their personal insights into Broadway and hear about their experiences—all arranged with Broadway Inbound and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

As the group took their seats in the first few rows, they were joined on stage by members of the Something Rotten cast: John Cariani, one of the stars of the show, and ensemble members Aaron Kaburik, also the understudy for “Brother Jeremiah,” and Beth Nicely, who revealed she had just returned to the show after breaking her foot. The three fielded open questions and offered additional fun facts.

At the end of the group’s special talkback experience, Broadway Ray had glowing reviews for Broadway Inbound, “I love the people, I really do. I’ve been doing business with them 10 of my 14 years. I like that they are part of The Shubert Organization, I love Bob Hofmann, I love my account reps. They’re young and energetic… and they’ll go that extra step.”
