Come From Away Soars on Broadway

A new addition to The Broadway Collection, Come From Away flies onto the Broadway stage at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre. The Tony Award-winning musical features a book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, direction by Christopher Ashley, musical staging by Kelly Devine and music supervision by Ian Eisendrath. Come From Away officially opened on March 12, 2017.

Come From Away tells the true story of 7,000 airplane passengers that were stranded in Gander, a small town in Newfoundland, after the 9/11 attacks. While cultures clashed and nerves ran high, the town welcomed the newcomers and their uneasiness turned to trust, gratitude grew into enduring friendships and music soared into the night.

Evoking feelings of hope and optimism, Come From Away is a timeless musical that will resonate with multigenerational and multicultural travelers. Audience members will appreciate seeing how ordinary figures of various ages and backgrounds band together to form lifelong bonds in the wake of tragedy.
